Cooling Fan Harness Disconnect?

I need to remove my fan from the shroud, but before I break anything, I was hoping someone knew how to unplug the harness from the fan motor?

Can you remove the motor and can from the shroud with the wiring still attached?

The fan won't slip straight out of the shroud with the harness still connected to the fan motor.
The harness wires route into the side of the fan motor (perpendicular to the axis of the motor shaft), and then get hung up on the wireway channel of the shroud as I try to move the fan out of its counterbore (toward the radiator).
It must be possible, since shrouds can be purchased separately?

Strange. That wiring looks like it would easily come out of the shroud. I suspect the wiring will not come out if the fan motor easily. It looks like at a minimum you would have to remove the motor from the shroud so you can access however the wiring is sealed into the motor. Usually is is not easy to disconnect — it is soldered or crimped or both.

I think you may have answered my question?
I should have just asked it this way:

Is this a connector that can be removed from the fan motor? If so, is there a secret to unclipping it?

Mission Accomplished...sort of.
I ended up unclipping the connector body from the top of the fan shroud and then was able to unclip the harness wires from the horizontal wireway of the shroud.
Once I did that, I was able to fold the wires toward the front of the engine and then the fan was able to move toward the radiator.
Enough so that I can get my A/C and PS idler fastener and pulley in and out.
I'm going to use a 115mm long stud, with nut and washer, instead of the 100mm long bolt. My belief is that this will ease future servicing of the idler pulley.
Not being able to remove the fan assembly because of this 1 piece intercooler is really starting to bug me though.

I have removeD the entire fan and shroud assembly when working on the car. It is a tight fit with a little wiggling and tugging on hoses. I never thought about just removing the fan motor and blade assembly, but maybe that is easier. It looks like you still could not do everything from above since I see daylight to the floor. You can do it all from above with the entire fan assembly removed.

You do it the intelligent way, sadly I cannot because of the intercooler.

It is most definitely NOT easier (but not a nightmare) to remove the 3 Torx fasteners that retain the fan motor to the shroud. Unclipping the connector and getting the harness wires out of the wireway of the shroud is pretty easy though.

I removed the lower felt splash pan bits to drain the radiator. I like to disconnect the radiator hose for better access to the tensioner and the idler pulley. Plus, when I drop a tool, it usually falls all the way to the floor.
The pulley bearings are both dry and rattling, which is what I think is making the groaning noise.

...and I finally made a Tensioner Wrench.
Works great, wish I would have done it sooner.

I was wondering what that blurry big orange pipe was in the picture. Is that a GPower or Evolve with air to air intercooler? I like air to air but understand water to air is sometimes easier to fit. A supercharger is on my list.

G-Power.
If I were the fan/shroud assembly standing under the basket, the intercooler would be Dikembe Mutumbo.

Very nice! I think I read GPower is gone now.

Looks like their website is still up, but when I went to their configurator tab and tried to find our cars, I got nothing.
Kinda like when I called them last year for spare air filters for my kit...they said
We no longer make this.

Got a headsup from another member (bavarianmotors) that G-Power split into two companies.
The spinoff company is called GP Infinitas, and they still sell stuff for these kits.
I have been emailing their tech support and getting replies.
