Frustrated by cheap garden hose nozzles

My father and I have been frustrated for years by garden hose nozzles that break in a year or less. Obviously, we use these to wash the cars but also for watering plants, hosing off the sidewalk, cleaning windows, etc. Something different breaks each time: the housing cracks, the nozzle jams, the brass separates from the body, etc. It doesn't seem to matter which style we buy -- they all break quickly.

Can anyone recommend a really good nozzle that will last more than a year? Griot's Garage has two different ones that run about $100 but it's hard to tell if they're just another cheap Chinese-made product with an inflated price. Also, at $100, we could buy several of the cheaper ones and just keep replacing them.

I use the Eley brand. This is one solid spray nozzle. It comes with two spray pattern attachments and is warrantied for 10 years.

You can't go wrong with Eley products, I have their hose reels, however I use these nozzles and they are bullet proof: http://www.autogeekmobile.net/fire-hose-nozzle.html

i got a cheap brass ball valve from home depot for about $12 i think. plenty of pressure. just don't use a collapsible hose- you'll never get good pressure out of those.

I used to have the same problem. But bought a 50ft goodyear branded commerical hose from home depot. It worked well after 1 year. So i bought another 50 and connected them. It been 3 years of NY hot summer and frigid winters without any issues.
