We don't drive F1 cars, there are millions of cars on the road with generic auto store rotors and they are not just smashing into each other.
For regular street driving and emergency stopping these should perform similar to OEM. It's when you brake hard for extended periods that the more "expensive" stuff really shines.

Centric has different lines of brake rotors. They have their normal line which is quite good. They have Stoptech drilled/slotted for enthusiasts. Then they have C-TEK which is a pretty terrible "budget" line.

Don't know. Maybe the picture or maybe there is bad wear. Can't tell when driving out here. Roads where I now live on the East Coast are such sh*t it hardly matters.

But it does matter.... your pad is only covering a partial area of the rotor... |

well, its 100% wrong and probably dangerous. at first, i was thinking the rotors were a little smaller and what i was seeing were the dust shields. looks like your pads are actually only making 3/4" of contact. you can clearly see the machining on the rotor face where the pads aren't making contact.
this is incredibly dangerous, and i would advise not to drive your car. however, if you are going to drive your car anyways- go find an open road where you have nothing in front of you (for safety), get to about 50 mph and stomp on the brakes. i kinda want to see if the pads will even make contact with the rest of the rotor. post some close-up pics.

I mean, if you want us to call you Paul Walker two weeks from now, be my guess. OP and friend aren't driving their cars like they're supposed to be driven. No fucking way I'd run these rotors in the Malibu Canyons. |

He can drop a ton of weight and just go with this bicycle setup. has about the same pad contact.

Still boggles my mind how someone who drives an m3 settles for shit 43$ rotors.. this isn’t a 328...
BMW spent soooo much time on developing and perfecting a car like this and you guys run $43 rotors?! Somethings you just shouldn’t cheap out on, or sell the car and get a 328 |

People change parts on cars all the time with cheaper or more expensive aftermarket parts. You don’t need 2 piece rotors — there are plenty of 1 piece rotors in this size. They weigh a little more but 99% of these cars are street cars and few drivers would notice. While I agree expensive cars typically cost more to maintain, I don’t feel the need to have a bmw stamp on every part that goes on my car or to pay a premium price for every part.

Looking at the cross-hatching, it looks like you are only using the outside edge of the rotor. Could be wrong, but you should check the pads to ensure they are seated properly and are not tapered strangely.

Why would I sell the car tho? Just cause you're offended? I'm currently looking for a R8 V10 gated manual. Will put $40 rotors on that too if I can find em. People on here jokin on poor Paul Walker in except that car was probably all stock from Porsche or even higher priced after market products. So much for that OEM theory.

Those aren't OEM pads. Wear is all even after bedding. Checked all my rotors today. Car is fine, so am I. So is my wallet. Would buy again without hesitation. Will get "BEATERM3" license plate to justify $40 rotors.
