Wrong tires on CPO

I purchased a CPO 2008 e92 M3 about 9 months ago and I found out the tires on the car are not the standard OEM Michelin Pilot sport PS2's. They are bridgestone Potenza's. The OEM wheels (18's) and size of the tires are correct. Will this make a big difference in driving experience?

There was a thread on here the other day where I forum member tried to return his leased car with those tires and they would not accept the car without the 'correct' tires. He had to either buy new OEMs or take the hit for replacing them.

The thought was that they (dealer) could not CPO the car without an OEM spec tire on the car. Now you're saying your CPO came with them...

Strange

The leasing agreement states that tires need to match the specification, that's it. I've returned 6 leases and it's always A-OK. I didn't even have to put runflats on one, despite it coming with them. Normally you'd need runflats though, I just asked the SA and said "whatever".

That guy in the CPO thread was getting fisted by his dealer really hard. He needs to do some research so the dealer doesn't clean him out.

edit: just re-read that thread, haha, that guy's getting rolled by his dealer

It may be strange, but yes, my car was off lease and they CPO'd it with the Non OEM tires. Could be a mistake, but not the answer I was looking for. Does it make that much difference in driving experience?

Tires are going to be a subjective thing for you to assess, have heard mixed reviews on these

My strange comment was more directed at the other dealer/thread, not your car/situation

Well you may be right. I told the dealer about this and they verified my claim and sent me a check for new tires! A++ Dealer. Just wondering if I should replace my tires now with pilot sports PS2's.

I'd say wait for the rears to wear out then replace all 4 if you have cash in hand from the dealer. It's not like the Bridgestones that come in the correct sizes for this car are crap.

The PS2's are just one of a few tires the M3 could come with. Not everyone gets those on their car.
