I'm looking to do front only(probably going to do it around late Spring early Summer) and go with StopTech ST40, while the saving isn't much compared to ST40 on sale, the ability to pick your own color and use FCP Euro for unlimited front rotor replacement is still nice.

In one of the pics you posted earlier, I saw the caliper was all dark gray, what was that dark gray caliper if not primer?
Yes high heat I had mixed locally. The dark gray was light coat of acid etch as that particular caliper had some metal showing. Don't forget everything apart from pads, brackets and lines are used.

Seals, bleed nipples and pistons were all checked of course

Quick question, are the F8x 380mm disc a direct fit for E9x?

Looks like the Alfa calipers+Freaky brackets+F8x disc fit together very well and didn't see you mention any modifications were needed for the setup.

If it's that simple then it's a really attractive option since FCP have 'lifetime' F8x rotors for a little over $500...

Yes it all fits. The F8x front calipers however don't unless you change the spindle.

Only other mod would be brake shields, either from the F8x or trim your existing ones. I'm doing the later.

F8x calipers are worthless as a solution compared to the Alfa, considering that Alfa+bracket is cheaper than F8x+spindle, and it's a 6 vs 4, plus the Alfa one also has the right piston size

I was excited for this, but the pad sweep looks terrible

But it’s 55-60% of the money of a BBK rear brake kit designed for the car. On a more positive note, the unswept part of the rotor is near the hub, which the smallest area.

After looking at the pad sweep I've found myself looking at other cars (non-bmw) and noticed this seems kinda normal? Lots of oem setups do not sweep the entire rotor

You would have a huge lip over time if it did not sweep the rotor. I have not owned any cars with rotors that developed a huge lip of unswept area.

On face value yes, but there should be larger pad options. Not sure what the stock pad size is to reference it off.

I should post this shortly.

6 pistons front caliper machined for perfect fitment and pad sweep.

Compatible with 360 E9X (65mm pads), 380 F8X (76mm pads) and 2 piece aftermarket (57.5mm on 60mm rotor surface).

Pad choice is immense due to caliper selection and pad sweep is full.

Workiiing out GB pricing won't come close to Unicorn, that's an insane deal.

Yes!

I am working with him to streamline options to avoid the initial gb sh*t show. I had a long chat with him about it and I understand where it failed.

- He doesn't have time to manage forums and he's not a native english speaker.
- He offered way too many options and had to outsource some finishes.
- Many were late to pay.
- 1 kit got stolen via chargebacks.

I now would manage the GB on the forum, and we are limiting finish options to those he now does in-house.

I was interested in his bbk back when he was still on the forum but saw several fitment issues being reported without resolution. I also saw a thread with issue with caliper leaking. Not saying his stuff isn't quality. I have his dct pans but i would hope these concerns are addressed, as post sale assistance seems to be lacking...

Since I have decided not to peruse a retrofit and have an objective opinion on this........

Why is a group buy being allowed for buying a kit from a guy that the thread you just posted mentions he was banned from here?

He was banned as he didn't renew. Applicable to any sponsor - from my understanding in discussions with Jason.

On, not quite full sweep but I'll concede. The brake feel/modulation is unreal.

Ignore the rusty rotor, had to give them liners a clean and dress up. Rears was a breeze. Rear center cap is giving me anxiety not being straight with the 'M' badge
