How much money have you spent on unexpected maintenance/repair on your e9x M3?

Is the M3 a reliable car? The answers are usually mixed bag. Has the cost of M3 ownership been what you expected? For repairs that are not covered under warranty or for owners who have non-warrentied vehicles, what has been your experience thus far?

Kind of a pointless thread at this point since very few M3's are off warranty.

didnt vote cause you have some crazy $$$$ amount on your pole... and most of the cars still under warranty i was way long gone and do everything myself. DIY is the best bet to save $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

WHEN MY Car under Warranty

Engine oil change $130 every other 7k miles (dont wait 15k miles to do it.) dealer do the 1st 7k miles and i do the other half.

CAR WITH NO MORE WARRANTY.
I have an 08 with 73k miles and the only maintenance i had to do out of pocket was

Rear brake rotors $240
Rear brake pads $120
Differential fluid $90
Tranny Fluid $120
Engine Oil $130 (every 7k miles)
Low Pressure sensor $54 (this is due to engine light code P0172 and P0175)

If the body work was not the result of an accident AND is critical to the functional performance of the vehicle, then yes..

This is the 3rd E9x M3 for me. Other than the regular oil/filter change, i spent nothing. Well i did actually. The idle valve was apparently damaged (It's a common problem) and the dealer blamed the mods i had and i had to pay it out of my pocket.

Zero issues - these cars are very reliable in a mechanical sense, and the common issues/maintenance items are easily done at home with the DIY forum here.

Crazy poll options. If I spent $100 out of pocket on an extra oil change then it is "up to $5,000."
