Rod bearing kit 2008 E93

Had my rod bearings changed yesterday.
2008 E93 90,000 miles
Glad I did.......

The top row is the uppers and the bottom is the lowers. Sorry for the quality. Didn't have a lot of time to take the pic.

132k is a respective mileage, some wear fair enought. Proper motor no doubt.

Just picked up my car from the shop. 93k bearings replaced with BE Bearings and Hardware. Not in any particular order. The one good thing is my DCT isn't leaking at all yet.

Looks to align well with mine coming out at 38k, your looks like a tad more worn. Easily another 50k on those (our) I think, but now its done. Nice to get a good feel for the motor and that maintenance/driving style have worked out.

it might not be a bad idea compiling a thread with examples of all pulled replaced bearings for sakes of comparison (WPC, BE, vac, etc.)
I'll be making a point of posting my VAC bearings in the near future. I'm almost have 50,000 miles on them now.

Potentially it “could” have lasted longer but I wasn’t going to take that chance! On the top right you can see there’s a piece of bearing missing...that had me concerned

It’s actually a piece missing, I should’ve taken a close up of it

Damn. Interesting, I'll check mine closer, maybe to find that some of the "spots" actually are material missing.

Cheers

I can't tell from the photo, but are the dark spots on #2 #4 and #6 pitting in the metal?

those black spots are embedded debris from the oil.
