Looking for linear sounding exhaust!
Currently have RPI axle back installed on my e92 m3. It's the only exhaust mod I have. On startup and idle, the car has TOO much bass. Especially when ordering at a drive thru, it feels like I'm driving my diesel truck. Plus this exhaust is super drony. What's funny is a lot of the bass disappears after 5 RPM and you hear more motor. I'm looking for an exhaust with a reverses effect. I want something that's quieter on startup and idle, but screams when you redline it. At this point I'm thinking of going back to the OEM exhaust and doing the exhaust mod, or maybe grabbing the borla S Type (hard to judge how loud it is, but they preach NO drone)... also heard great things about the Dinan exhaust.

Straight pipe it. Mine idles the same as stock without drone.
Destroys your ears if you get too cheeky with the throttle though. stock: center straight+ rear stock

Corsa is perfect. Just got my car back today from install. If the RPI was a 9/10 on the loud scale, the corsa is a 6.5-7 which is perfect for my liking. Not to mention the linear sound all the way through, whereas the RPI would lose bass after 4-5 rpm. Corsa reminds me of the e92 335is exhaust note

If you don't want to spend a ton of money I vote Megan with TPs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlNfIK1Usg0&t=177s The Borla S is drone happy...of all the Borlas the ATAK is the way to go. Love the Corsa just hate the way they look under the car. Look like Rhino balls under the rear valance. Dave

I just added a gintani xpipe w/hfc to my corsa cat back. Nice aggressive idle & screams when you get on it. Definitely no fall off up to redline. Not droney (I'm taking credit for a new word there) but you will definitely hear it at highway speeds if that matters just from pure volume. Sounds glorious imo, especially at the track. |
