M3 219 style rims, whats reflex silver vs normal?
The very lovely Pep Boys decided to scratch the living crap out of my two rear rims during mounting TWO rear tires I purchased from Tire Rack and denied doing any damage. They denied my claim when I pointed it out immediately and basically told me to get lost because the tech said he didn't do it and without me having any video proof of him doing anything to my car I was out of luck. As a result I'm searching for new rims. The realOEM page lists two different styles/part numbers for the 219 style 18"s
Anyone know the difference between Light Alloy Rim and Light Alloy Rim "Reflex silver" ? They have different part numbers, but I thought there was only one 219 style rim. Oh and by the way I would NEVER EVER take any of your cars to ANY pep boys recommended by Tire Rack or you run the risk of ending up like me having to eat a $1,000 in two rims when they trash them for a $52 mount and balance job. He didn't even offer to refund the charges. The shop manager kind of smirked at me as he told me I couldn't prove they damaged my rims. I wanted to knock his teeth in on the spot.

I believe the reflex silver came on LCI M3s late production 2010-2013, I think you need the other style Part # 36102283550 - Front and Part # 36102283551 - Rear.

Don't spend that much to replace two damaged wheels. There are always sets available in the member classified section. You can get a set of four in great condition for less than $1000.
And the post above is correct. The silver version came on the newer cars... Not sure what year they made the change. To make things more confusing, my 2013 came with silver 260M wheels which are very similar to 219M but not the same.

The 219M wheels came in two colors. Reflex silver is the silver color. The regular color is the gunmetal colored wheels. I know.. I had a dealer order me a replacement wheel and I got the wrong color before.
Here is a post describing the reflex silver color 219M (May 2010-2012 models) http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=387977 The 2013+ M3 in the USA had 260M wheels which is a different style. Silver: Regular (grey gunmetal)

Thanks for the help guys, I have the original gunmetal color and love the look.
I took a look around the forums. I'll keep an eye out for a pulled rim. Most I see though are complete sets of 4 with tires. I only need 2 rims, no tires. I'd settle for 1 rim, but then I'm back trying to find someone to mount and balance it without scratching the new rim. Forget Pep Boys!
