I think I'd consider the engine legendary. The car could go either way but I don't think so.

yes it is...before you start arguing tell me why then has the e9x won every comparison it has been in after 4/5years of being in production? sure there are improvements we might like to see in the e9x m3 but yes down the line this model will be looked up to. besides the e30 m3 i dont see the e36 or e46 getting as much praise for its performance

The S65 is amazing, and the ride and handling compromise of this car is really outstanding (unbelievable until your experience it day in, day out).
However, it's not a legend because it doesn't have true competition pedigree. Unfortunately, there aren't many series nowadays in which this car can be competitive (it's not going to hold a candle to a GT3 in a track setting). For a car to be truly legendary, in my book at least, it has to be both on the road and the track. On the road alone, it most definitely is, but not on the track, and only because it's not being raced properly (the versions racing out there don't really qualify in my opinion, as the deviate too much from the stock car). |

E30 M3 is a legend
E92 M3 is a great car with a fantastic engine I've owned both, and trust me when I tell you the E30 was way, way ahead of it's time

Don't get me wrong
I love my e92 But I feel to be a legend you need to bring something new to the table Not just perfect an existing concept The M3 was custom built, to be a winner The e92 was built to sell a lot of cars Comfort access this, idrive that, etc Why nor start by saying what cars we feel are legends? 911 is a legend The original Audi Quattro is a legend The Lancia Delta Integrale is a legend Original Golf GTi etc

Its a great luxury sports car but lets be honest with ourselves. It has almost identical performance characteristics as a Ford Mustang GT. The engine is good, over 100HP a liter, but lacks torque and doesn't get very good fuel economy. Great car, but not a "legend."

The e9x never broke any new ground. Like I said above, I'd consider the engine to be legendary, but the car, No way.
