RS4 - inside tire wear
Hey guys, I the inside of my passenger side front tire is wearing / chunking a bit after a few days on the track. The tires are Hankook RS4's which generally wear well so I'm not sure of the problem. I'm running abt -1.8 camber, and no more than 36/37psi hot. Going out cold they were at abt 27. Maybe they were too low in psi to start??

I don't think that wear looks too awful.

I've got 6 days on mine, no chunks at all. But I'm on an E46 M3 so weight is less (3100 lbs without driver). I'm also at -3.8 camber up front, -2.5 rear.

Chunking could be caused by overheating, which could be a symptom of a variety of issues: improper pressure, poor technique/overdriving, improper suspension setup, alignment too mild, incorrect sizing, etc.

Thanks guys, will try a bit lower psi this time. Tire wear otherwise is fine, so I don't think it's a camber issue (no understeer really either). I will likely take temp readings tmr and see what that shows.

Dumb question and this is no knock on your ability, but are you over-driving the tires?

Highly doubt it. I switched sides for this week (so ran them backwards - it was dry). Did the same thing on the inside again, even going in reverse. Not a huge deal regardless. I also ran less psi this time.
