REVIEW: Felix Muffler

Just wanted to introduce myself real quick, I recently picked up an e90 m3. But just had a really big itch for the car to be louder. I took it to a shop in Scarborough out in Ontario. So for my fellow Canadians, Felix Muffler out at birchmount and eglinton. The price that I paid for was half the price of a lot of shops so just a suggestion that hasn't done the mod and currently looking to have it done. PM me for exact pricing for those interested. By the way this was the acm method.

Why not just remove the mufflers? The cans aren't doing anything back there with that internal bypass except holding up unecessary weight :/

To be honest I don't know why the mufflers are left on, but I just followed what others have been doing with regards to the Acm mod. This might be way out there but I think it might still have some control of sound, so it still muffles some of it rather than a full muffler delete. Just a thought!

Nah, the mufflers aren't doing anything with the ACM mod except being cosmetically there. It's a straight pipe from the entry to the muffler body to the tips. With the ACM mod, sound has nowhere to travel but straight through those and out.

Yup! I already referred two people to get it done there. Since We are all in the GTA, we should totally meet up to hear everybody exhaust!

I was under the impression that you still get the benefits of the Helmholtz chambers with the ACM mod (reduces drone). I'm not sure how much of an affect they have vs full straight pipe with no muffler, but I assume they are doing "something". If the benefit is worth the extra weight is another question..

So I have read there are three methods, the two pipe, four pipe and the ACM. When a two pipe is done which two are wrapped or replaced, the ones with the large amounts of perforations in the pic?

Yes, the longer portions of perforated pipe are replaced with solid pipe for the two pipe method.
