Agreed but anywhere other than Adelaide.
The previous owner of Adelaide BMW held a monopoly on the market. 1 and only dealer in SA. You hear stories and wonder how legit they are.

It's not until you experience the same dodgy service, this advice rings home. I wont go into too much detail, only to say, Adelaide BMW all but ruined my 335i oil system.

Instead of changing the oil as requested, some 1/2 wit saw clean oil and assumed it was OK. I'd just purchased the car from a dealer, and not knowing what was in it, I requested they (BMW Adelaide) go over it with a fine tooth comb. Put bluntly they didn't.

Approx 3,000km later, the oil turned to black, sticky sludge, and my entire oil system was cactus.

And here's the dodgy rub. Even though they admitted not changing said oil, they refused to accept liability. I trust Mark Percat (yes, Nick's dad), and he was appalled by the mess of the oil cooler, OFH & filter; wrong filter was installed. If Adelaide BMW had done what I asked, they've have picked up the wrong oil filter. Anyway, it cost me a pretty penny to right this clusterf#ck which could have easily been avoided, if... Adelaide BMW had followed my instructions.

As of writing this there are 2 more BMW dealers in SA now. And, Adelaide BMW is now owned by another company.

Personally, if you can find a reputable, trustworthy indy shop, who knows your bmer from top to bottom and everything in between, then that's where you take it... I think the $tealerships are fine for warranty services etc, but aside from charging like wounded bulls, I found you can get much better attention to details from a reputable indy shop, who, specialises in bmers, who have bmw trained staff.

And yes... cheap tires are a good indicator of the owner's car care

The amount of horror stories I have heard from that dealership, don't know how they haven't been screwed over backwards. Will admit tho, the showroom and exterior does look nice with the M performance stuff haha!
Andrawos Auto, Michael McMichael and Percat are the go to BMW mechanics in Adelaide?

I hadn't really considered it, as I think it's a bit plain looking - perhaps with the right wheels and stance etc.
Is certainly interesting because whenever an e90 comes up (manual or dct) it's a good 10-20k cheaper than the equivalent year/condition e92, if not even more than that. This is despite the rarity, seems the market just doesn't want a sedan.

That sounds like an absolute horror story. If you ever find yourself in a situation like that again (I hope you never do), this goes for everyone else reading too. Reach out to BMW Australia directly and ask to speak to someone from good will, explain your case and more often than not they will help you providing that your story adds up, especially when dealing with any M car. I had the steering rack go on my bmw f30 335i. It was not it warranty, it was serviced at every 10000 KMs at a specialist (not BMW) and after going through all of the details and pleading my case they agreed to pay 70% of the costs. The job was $6700 all up. All the top car manufactures have a division like this, it's certainly not advertised and is there for unique cases.
