M3 Age and Occupation?
Recently was told by a fellow auto enthusiast that the M3 is a young guys car and a "racer" magnet and that it was not in the same class of older and more mature car enthusiasts own 4 door sedans or grown up sports cars like Corvette (which he owns along with a Honda V6 Accord).
Hmm...I think he's wrong but am interested in what current M3 owners in the US and around the world do and how old/young they may be. So chime in so I can make my friend buy me a beer and eat some of his words! I'll start off... 41 y/o Military medical guy M3 is daily driver but not my only car. NEXT....

There's a flip-side to this: The Corvette and many other sports cars are also synonymous with Mid-Life Crisis. The M3 has never (and will never) be associated with that. Thank God

By and large, your friend was correct that the M3 demographic sways toward the younger set. However, I don't buy that crap about more mature people driving sedans and sports cars. It all depends on one's needs, irrespective of age. Also, you should remind your friend that the M3 is actually available as a sedan as well, though I suspect that the average age of sedan owners is indeed older than the average age of coupe owners. On the other hand, convertible owners might likely be the oldest (just my opinion). I think your friend is just a smidge jealous of your versatile car, and/or he is a bit insecure in his choice of cars. |

I think 18-22 should have its own category, as generally speaking, no one in this age group can afford the car for themselves (probably mommy and daddy bought it). Anyone theroetically 22 and out of college could earn a living for themselves.

lol, here we go again. But I like to read posts like this anyway .
I bought the M3s because my life is boring and I needed something to make my life less boring since I spend 2.5 hours to 4 hours per day (work, gym and go out) on the road so yeah, something like the M3 is the cure. I used to have 2 cars but then got rid of the other one since I only drive the M3.

33. I'm a designer for a small software company that I co-own. When I was in my mid 20's, I never thought I'd own a BMW in my lifetime, let alone an M3. Counting my blessings.
