Hood Vents
I've continued development on the hood vents I've been making for the BMW community, and I'm glad to announce a new line of vents for the E9x M3. These vents fit all variants of this generation. A couple of new features: 1. Optional gurney flap and 2. Rearmost slat now folds down flush with the plane of the hood (reduces drag and improves aesthetics) The new optional gurney flap feature reduces drag and improves air extraction along the front half of the vent by creating a low pressure zone directly above the slat openings. As always, aesthetics were taken into consideration, and this feature integrates well with the design of the rest of the vent. The shape of the vent allows for end users to mount the vents above or below the hood surface. The shape avoids cutting of any of the internal hood "skeleton" to avoid compromising the structural integrity. Aftermarket hoods with vents are expensive, and oftentimes, the fitment isn't spot on. You also need to pay a body shop to fit and paint the whole hood. The stock aluminum hood is very light weight as it is, and these vents don't require any bodywork other than cutting a hole with a dremel and optionally painting the vents. Here are a few photos of the vents: Installed photos: Thanks to everyone who has placed an order. Both versions are in stock and available to ship out right away! Feel free to PM me with any questions. Vents are now available on www.n15design.com

Will you be posting any pictures of how these look once installed on a car?

Yes, a paper template is included. For under hood mounting, I would recommend bringing the hood/car to a fabricator or body shop to have it mounted. Mostly because the cut edge needs to be finished after the vents are mounted underneath. I've had dozens of clients opt to rivet them on top as well , although the vast majority of E9x owners have put them underneath for a cleaner look.

They can be epoxy bonded. I've had a few customers also weld in studs underneath the hood to have a mechanical fixture point, but I don't think it's necessary as long as you use the right kind of epoxy (body panel bonding epoxy + clamps overnight should do it)

This is great. Do you only have the side vents? Anything for the front center of the hood

Saw these in person for the E36, E46, and E92. Absolutely great looking with a clean installation.
Can't wait to snag these for my own car soon.
