Yep. Anything look familiar? Rear OE shocks/springs for a 997.1 GT3. Same type spring. Bilstein + H&R.

Sure, it a little heavier, but unless you are racing, and need to constantly changes springs, who cares. I'll likely never change springs based on my use.

Ok, so I finally ordered the Bilstein Clubsport! I guess the 3W MCS will have to wait until some other time.

2953 with the 20% discount code on autozone.com and 3108 shipped with taxes!

Here's the direct link to the website:
http://www.autozone.com/suspension-s...7_763177_16829

If it says there are none available, just click on 'contact customer service' and after a couple weeks they'll find a way to make it work for you. Wow! So excited!

Absolutely amazing price for this kit, way to be patient and get it done!

In for another review.

I'm happy and sad at the same time. It was the perfect chance to get the 3WR on the E90, but the truth is the B CS will be better on the street for the E92 and that is supposed to my street car.

This ruins any fantasies of having two M3s with BW full aero packages :'(

Change of plans

The B CS was ordered and arrived yesterday, but I couldn't stop thinking that I want the 3WR on my primary track car instead of the 2WNR and that I was blowing the chance to do that swap.

So... I returned the B CS yesterday night and will be ordering the 3WR today.

Either option was compromised, because although I definitely want the B CS for the secondary track car as that one sees more street time, at the same time I want the 3WR on the track car that sees 40 days a year.

Had I thought of all this at the beginning, the secondary car would have the B CS and the primary would have the 3WR, but as I already have the 2WNR that will go to the secondary car.

Sorry for messing up your thread Mvez

you're right! Damn!! Now it's more expensive even with the discount that in other places

It's a pity because I returned mine which cost 3108 shipped... I would have happily sold it to you for that price.

Serves me right for not keeping up with the forums but thanks for the thought! I was originally looking at PSS10s and looking to do a custom Swift conversion on it with camber kits (since no one makes helper spring kits for the PSS10s) but the cost would've ran past the clubsport cost...Decisions decisions!

On another note, seems like we're both taking similar routes with our cars and builds (E46 and E9X chassis)!

Yes! If you're in DC maybe we'll run into each other at WGI or VIR!

Wow, can't believe Autozone's pricing (screwup I assume). Should have ordered their entire supply! What a great deal with that coupon. $3k and if you don't like it resell for a nice profit.

The best price I've found right now from reputable sellers searching a bit seems to be Bimmerworld at $4201.99.

spring rates...

My concern/question on the Bilstein Clubsport for M3s is that between E36 M3, E46 M3, E9x M3, and F80 M3, there is ~500 lbs curb weight difference, but Bilstein uses same front and rear spring rates for all four M3 models. Did they actually do testing on these cars or just took a shortcut? E36, the lightest of the four models also uses narrowest tread width tires. Just a thought.

500lb curb weight difference isn't really all that big from the spring's perspective, especially in the back with the motion ratio what it is. It's an extra 125 lb per wheel give or take a dozen depending on distribution, for a 500 lb/in spring that's only 6mm extra deflection. It probably is a shortcut, but the newer chassis are stiffer, which means you can have a more compliant suspension and still maintain wheel control, so I don't think it's that big a deal

I just ordered a set of Bilstein Clubsport today.

It seems that these weren't around a year ago.

When I ordered the B6 Damptronics Shocks 2 years ago, there was no B16 Damptronic Coilovers on the Bilstein catalogue.

Bilstein sure takes their time in coming out with items for discontinued cars.

6 months later still not a single complaint, rattle, or issue. Driven on street, and enough track days to get them dialed in. Car is fast for what it is. Had a recent nose to tail full session with a fully prepped boss 302 on conti slicks and couldn't quit smiling after at how balanced the car was. A bit loose, which is perfect for DE fun.

They make these for the 991 GT3, and I'm considering a set for my 991.2 on order, for the same dual purpose use. They just work, but you gotta be willing to adjust them.

If you drive your M3 to the track you really do need to try a set of Trofeo-R's at least once. I'm a Nitto guy through and through, but I'm now on my second set and they are awesome.

But the Trofeo Rs are SO expensive! It's just crazy! It's like 1600 for a set!

I'm resorting to putting tires into the E90 and swapping them at the track. R1's are cheaper than Trofeo Rs and faster for sure
