Did you contact your dealer directly, or did you get nominated simply by registering from the site? In other words, did you have a back door...

Actually the dealer asked me if I was interested in testing the new M3 on a VIP tour to Nürburgring. (tough question).
This was a while back before BMW made the show official on the website, however he has not been able to confirm anything until today.

are you sure you're going to the september event? there are several bmw events inviting people to drive the new M3, and by all indications the september event is available only to the winners of the contest, whereas other events are allowed to invitees.

As I understand, all aplicants will be notified before August 31.( if you`re lucky that is) So it seems a little bit early IMO for confirmation on the September 19th-20th event.

That is always a possibility, but the agenda is identical and happens on the very same days.
