Self inflicted CC-ID 231
I had the interior of my car disassembled for two weeks with the battery disconnected. I connected it and caused a CC-ID 231. I am now going to take a crash course in INPA because of this.
Has anyone recovered from this by clearing the error without replacing the FRM? Depending on which FRM is in my car it might be time for an upgraded FRM.

I saw that. I am afraid with an 11/2009 build date I may be past the 8 years.
Thank you! https://www.e90post.com/forums/attac...8;d=1485957308

I will try the dealer. But in service date was 11/28/2009. Can someone do the math for me? I am terrible at counting.

BMW said $186 to look at the car and would not cover the FRM3 under the extended warranty.
I had the FRM3 revived at a speedo shop in San Diego for 2 bills with this process: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1189062 It took all of 10 minutes. PSA disconnect your FRM module before you disconnect the battery of your E9x.

After the research I did it can happen even for a quick disconnect, jump start or low battery. It seems like a gamble if you don't. It is not hard to do once you figure out the mechanics of the three connectors.
