Add a clearcoat if you are worried about durability. If it works for Brembo's it should work on factory brakes...

Wow, you had boiling fluid that got all over your engine and cracked paint on the calipers from heat. What a bummer. I would definitely try to get some new calipers from BMW. It sounds like the paint was defective, the paint should really take some significant heat without damage. My opinion of the OEM brakes continues to decline...
