I was just thinking about my mums parking .. she could do with a hummer really then she could just roll over the other cars.

Personally I like the Audi Q7 though.

if it's E70 X5, i would recommend that, it comes with 7-seaters as well

Q7 is a very good car as well, the quattro is amazing, and the technology is super...

i would pick the X5 cuz i love BMW

I am definitely not an SUV person, but my top choices would be:

Porsche Cayenne S
BMW X5 (new model)
Infiniti FX (35 or 45)

E70 X5 - BY FAR, the best driving SUV ever (and I only drove the 3.0)
ML500 - Smaller version of the GL IMO, feels much more normal and proper sized than the GL to me...
GL450 - HUGE, feels like im driving a lunch box
Audi Q7 - Feels like a boat, light steering, wasnt really for me, and she hats the styling.
RR Sport - Best interior of the bunch, but even the car I testdrove had mechanical problems.
Acura MDX - Drove supprisingly good, its to smilliar to what we have and she has ruled it out.
Porsche - Didnt have a chance to drive this one...
_________

We are still trying to make our minds up, but it looks like we are leaning towards our 3rd BMW! If you ahve any questions on the cars feel free to ask.

Audi Q7 (4.2)

She likes the Range Rover, but im scared of those for some reason... I would love your guys opinions and ideas for other cars aswell!
I test drove the GL and was VERY impressed. My parents have the new MDX, which is very nice, but the GL is in a different league (better interior, better ride, better fit/finish). If your mom wants a spacious, comfortable vehicle with a nice interior, I think the GL is the one to get. It's no sports car, but it does what it it's intended to do very well and doesn't feel as big as it is. I'm sure the Q7 and X5 handle significantly better (I have yet to drive them), but my priority for our next SUV is placed on space and comfort, so the GL appears to be a better match for me at this point. I was surprised that I liked the GL so much, because I am a "BMW guy" and usually prefer sport over comfort - but for SUV duty, the GL is an impressive machine.

The GL was my second favorite behind the X5 after driving all the cars at training. The GL is a good all around car that is for sure.

I can't wait to test the new X5--my wife is pretty strongly against it though, b/c she wants something bigger and, for once, I can't successfully argue against her. If we didn't have a big dog in addition to our son (the dog travels with us often), the X5 would be my first choice for sure. However, driving the X5 may completely change our position!

Okay, im going to bump this thread because it has come time to pick our cars.

BMW X5
v.s.
Acura MDX

Who will reign supreme, today we are going to go drive the BMW 4.8 because it surprisingly gets great MPG for a truck of its size... Any more thoughts would be appreciated.
