the early gt350's didn't come with a diff and trans cooler or something... now they include it as standard.

I could be wrong but I think these were the tech packs & the track packs had them? Think this pissed a lot of early owners off.

Haha...but the sad part is you see more Fords on track than BMWs nowadays. At least in the Midwest and TX.

Yeah the vettes z06's are viper fast out there and the plethora of mustangs do well too!! The
Majority of them are all faster than me depending on the driver, it's a new era. I almost thought about buying a mustang, would love a vette but they too ugly. Bang for your buck a coyote track pack has to be up there!!

TX used to consist of rich dudes in a 911, fat guys in a better, poor guys in a Miata, and d!ckheads in a BMW with a wheel coming off on track.

Got myself booked for COTA with MVP later this month. How hard is this track on brakes?

Remember, huge sticky tires on this mofo with lots of downforce (Rivals, 315/335). Been happy with the Hawk DTC-60s front and rear, no fade ever. Probably my fifth set of them. I could typically get about 6-7 track hours at Autobahn CC out of the front pads which I think is pretty good given the car's performance.

I'm not worried about using up a full set of pads in one day. I was just trying to anticipate if the consumption would be high there from heavy use and/or lack of cooling opportunities. Also my first time there so I won't be going at it too hard in the morning.

Is there a tool someone can link for seating the dust boot on OEM calipers? Rebuilt mine today but couldn't get the dust boot on so I left it without. I'd prefer to run them because I don't believe OEM cups are SS, like you'd find on a race brake caliper. Thus more susceptible to corrosion from brake dust and moisture.

I put the boot on the bottom of the piston before inserting and then fed it in. Hopefully that makes sense.

Use compressed air - seat it on the caliper, blow air through the line, then pop the piston on.

Hmm I may need some more details. The boot has a metal ring that presses over a lip on the caliper. I didn't have luck getting the dust boot to seal on the lip on the caliper. Getting the boot on the piston and sliding the piston in was no problem. It's just getting the boot ring onto the caliper lip that is giving me trouble.

Here a link to a video where a guy made a tool. I don't have a 3D printer. But this is how our boots install on OEM calipers.

Those who have been to willow springs after the fresh repave , how much faster do you think it is compared to the previous cheese grater tract surface? 1 second?

I don't think it's faster yet. It was kind of slippery last week and some parts were weirdly bumpy. Turn 8 is a little better but then 1 shook the car like crazy. Going up turn 3 had some tar coming off the surface, that looked like it was filling in small potholes. I believe it was Gabe who said he thinks they let people on the track too soon after resurfacing.

That being said, I got a new pb but I contribute that to newer tires. Also, the whole back half of my car is covered in sealant from the resurfacing

It's not a repave. They:

-filled the cracks with tar. When it's cold out, the tar is bumpy and gives the feeling that your suspension is really rough and stiff. Later in the day, the tar in the cracks was pulling up as the cars drove over it and the tar slapped the underside of the cars. I show a pic below of a Lambo in front of me pulling up the tar. I remember seeing the tar slapping around as cars in front of me drove over it.
-painted the surface black. It definitely is much nicer to look at. I show some comparison pix below of how it used to look versus how it looks now.
-fixed the berms a bit and painted them.
-Painted white lines along the edge of the track
-Painted walls along the track

I believe what they did is 99% for the sake of better visuals. It's definitely nicer to look at. But there's virtually no difference in grip. And the track is still a complete cheese grater to tires. No change there. I corded a very decent set of tires far too quickly there last Sunday, and I was rotating the tires.

But the black surface looks super fancy in pictures and videos!.......
