Recommended shipping companies for car transport?
Hi all, did a quick search but didn't find any threads about what shipping companies you guys use to transport a car you're buying from out of state. I'm down in South Florida in the process of buying a M3 from Virginia and need to find a reputable and reliable shipping company to transport the car. Anyone have a good shipper they've used and can recommend? Thanks!

Put this into Google "car shipping site:m3post.com"
Most common answers are Intercity Lines, Reliable Transport, and JP Logistics.

I would recommend http://www.intercitylines.com/
I've used them a couple times over the years.....once for a shipment from Michigan to Calif....and another time for my M3 ...shipping from NC to Calif. Drivers own their trucks and are all fully covered and door to door pickup/drop-off. No complaints on their excellent service. |

Thanks for the replies guys! Yes IntercityLines was one I was looking at and another called UnitedRoutes. Both look good, IntercityLines seems better since they're enclosed and seem to deal with more high end and classic cars. I got a quote from UnitedRoutes promptly for $795 door to door non-enclosed, tried to get one with IntercityLines but I think somethings wrong with their website as it wont submit my quote request so haven't been able to get one.
Has anyone heard of UnitedRoutes and tried them?

A lot of these "shipping" companies are really just brokers. The transport itself is often bid out.
I told the driver I would give him an extra hundred if the car showed up without a scratch on it. That made him take extra ramps getting it on and off, put it on the safest part of the truck, etc. |

FWIW....
From Florida to Virginia I paid $350 with Black Mustang and they were great. Took all the extra precautions due to the low clearance of the car. I have shipped 4 cars and these guys were superb! But then again, I haven't had a bad shipping experience. These guys own their truck and trailer and are not brokers so you don't pay broker fees. Last edited by decimation1; 06-03-2016 at 07:26 PM.. I had my car shipped from a dealer in Maryland to MA. The dealer used a broker. The transporter they used was http://www.joncyntransport.com/
Enclosed shipping was $650. Would have been cheaper if I had gone through the shipper directly and avoided the broker but I just went with the people the dealer used. $795 non-enclosed from VA to FL sounds high.

Ok getting close to finalizing the purchase of the car. So far UnitedRoutes is my first choice at $795 but for open carrier. Black Mustang doesnt go down to Miami and Joncyn's quote was a slight bit more than UnitedRoutes. I also tried a quote from Bear Transport but they havent responded. Any others I should check out? Trying to at least get enclosed carrier for a little more than the $795 open quote from United Routes. Thanks!
