Me. I’ve been building engines, gearboxes and installing and tuning ECUs for a few decades as a pastime and am a professional engineer by trade. The Harrop kit is an easy install.

Is it plug and play the tune. Or does it need dyno tune and adjustment.

Yes, its a very good price! [no offers accepted].

A few questions I have been getting:
-The damaged plastic on the plug does not affect make up of connector. Harrop could sell you a new electronic bypass motor but it would not be worth it. Once the connector is made up you cannot see any damage. Functions properly. I damaged it by accident when doing some other maintenance on the car.

-Shops should take around 5 hours to fit. It really is quite straight forward. Hardest part is taking off bumper cover and locating intercooler radiator and hard lines. Charger assembly itself is like removing / fitting the stock plenum.

-Full color PDF instruction can be emailed or put on a USB stick with tune files.

-Tune is plug and play and wont need dyno time as its pretty good out of the box. Just download eflash software and flash on two Harrop (BPM) files (one updates the software to 240E, and one is the custom tune for supercharger). Eflash software is timebombed so you'll need a new link from Harrop/BPM to download the latest version. They will give you this no problem.

-You'll need to purchase a OBD2 USB cable (or unlock code?)from Harrop as mine is locked to the car VIN. I have the two original tune files ready to go. BPM flash don't modify your stock file so no emailing it BPM for modification.

-I can provide original invoice of purchase to help prove to harrop / reseller that the kit is legit.

-Returning the car to NA as I want to return to stock (and I prefer to invest in other projects I have going on).

Thanks.

I would feel more confident with a new plastic connection.

Have you priced one through harrop.

Along with flash tune file. I doubt they would send that for free?

Harrop will charge for an unlocked cable only at a reasonable amount (200 ish). The flash files are provided with the sale (they were provided with the original purchase). If you don’t feel comfortable with the broken connector then your options are buy a new kit for $13k or seek a replacement actuator assembly from Harrop if the connector really bothers you. That will be expensive though. The price of the kit reflects this damage, and it actually makes no difference to the the operation.

come on cplagz, you know you want to....

Would prefer to sell to someone local as shipping and packing would be a pain.

haha I wish just spent the equivalent of two new M3 on a house renovation so unfortunately a S/C is far away. That's why I'm looking to offload my E90 and just slum it with the turbo e30

Does it still have the low rpm issues discussed here https://www.m3post.com/forums/showth...070943&page=35 ?

.. Confused. You bought the car second hand with the supercharger kit already installed.
Yet above, you say you installed it yourself!!

I basically removed and reinstalled most of the kit for throttle motors after I bought the car.....and then recently removed it completely for sale (which involves pulling the radiator in addition to the main unit). There really is nothing to it.

Yes, I never liked the low speed mapping on it but most are ok with it. For me it is the weak point of the system but only during certain slow / daily stuff. When on the boil it runs very well.

interesting. my car is otherwise perfect so not sure if there is something else amiss, but have heard others mention the flat spot at 2500-3300 when getting into the throttle. i hope this can be tuned out, seems to go very rich for some reason. Higher rpms feels fine
How do you know for certain it's only to do with the harrop tune. Couldn't it be pressure related, bearings in the charger even. flat spotting at 2500-3000 your talking about would be clearly visible on dyno readouts showing that.

I don’t know for certain my observations were all related to the harrop tune, but after taking it off, there is indeed still some bogging low down so I suspect my car was never running properly when the kit was on it even though I assumed it was. The bearings in the charger? I don’t think so, they are fine and the unit spins smoothly.

Looks like Harrop may actually charge around $1000 to remarry the cable based on feedback from people who have enquired. In light of that, I will reduce price to 6k. Shipping to Eastern states will be around $140 using TNT 3 day, the kit is packed in a hard case and ready to go.

Roughly how many hours of labour is it to install at a shop? Any idea if Harrop will install a pre-owned kit on a new car?

I think they allow 8 hrs. Full day day to test etc.
Im assuming $1500 install and allowances but thats a guess.
Unsure if harrop will install second hand kit havent heard back from them.
Emailed the other day.
