So I have tried many things for the trim, first replacing OEM (always peels soon after), second attempt wrapping, but finally I have mastered fixing this for good. I have this exact refinished trim on my car, which I pictured with the new one. I had an extra trim and some time this week so I went ahead and re-created my exact fresh setup with the extra trim and figured I'd sell it since I will never need it. I carefully stripped all of the soft touch OEM paint, sanded with three grits to smooth, and today put 4 coats of the best, durable paint that I have tested many times. I've been using mine for 3 months on my DD and it's still flawless.. so I don't think I need the extra but I definitely put time and effort into making this extra trim, which I bought for $50, perfect. $89 + shipping |

Yeah for sure. I actually tried a few before I found the best paint for this trim. I used Rust-Oleum Camo (Black) paint, as it works very well on plastic. Not only is it 10x more durable than the OEM soft touch garbage, I actually like the shade of black a lot better as well. So far, not a scratch or smudge or anything after 4 months. Make sure to do 4-5 coats, not thick coats. let dry 29 minutes between coats.. Works really well.
