M3 E92 2012 - What Battery is this?

Hi,

BMW E92 M3 2012 DCT ZCP - GCC Middle East (Non Start Stop)

Can anyone tell me what type of battery this is?

I want to give it a charge, since the car isn't out much since March. (No problems or anything).

My charger is a Ctek. I have an AGM mode and a normal mode.

From the forum, this battery should be AGM, but I do not see AGM wrote on the battery anywhere.

Pics attached.
Thanks

Can't tell the brand name of the battery from your photo but it looks like the same blue top Bosch battery I have in my M. Eitherway it's an AGM battery. Use the snowflake setting.

I'm confused now, I was doing some research and I came to the conclusion it was a regular battery.
Its a Bosch S4 H42
I can't find anything Bosch S4 that says AGM.

For the Ctek, I was going to press Car Battery + Recon

If it were a standard lead acid battery you would see a vent tube running off to one side. As stated above, it's an AGM.

I have a ctek 25000 and I believe it just auto detects the type of battery. It's basically got normal mode that just does the right thing, recondition a battery mode, and a supply mode to supply power ( I think that could be used to supply constant power for coding? ). In theory the normal mode should detect the battery and do the best thing based on the state of the battery.

Looks like it's a regular battery, I would upgrade to a AGM if it's my car.

I am pretty sure I see the vent tube. Pic attached.

Nice investigative work!

I charged it fine with the Regular & Recond.

I'll upgrade to AGM soon - this one is at least 3 years old now....maybe more.

Just tossing this out there... The factory exide battery that I have now replaced with two BOSCH L5/49-850BAGM batteries have all been AGM batteries and they all had/have the drain tube on them.

The tube is just on the side by the positive post. They have been fantastic batteries. I'm a little worried since Pep boys dumped bosch, so I have no clue what is a good alternative now.

Replaced a Bosch AGM with a Duralast AGM and both had the vent, so that's not a good indication.

Any way to undo some of that hardware to get a better look at the specs and part number?
