Hi all,
I replaced my brake pads and rotors the other day. Did OEM rotors and Ferrodo DS2500 pads which I’ve used before. Did about ~10 50mph to 0 stops to bed the pads in. However I started getting this whooshing noise while driving after the job. I think it’s probably just the surface coating of the new rotor, but wanted to get some thoughts. https://share.icloud.com/photos/046D...3OFR1GTiDp6Fbw Thanks |

New rotors with raised machining marks on the clamping surface will make a faint whirling type noise when they are newly installed. That sound will disappear once the machining marks wear away and the surface becomes smooth.
One thing you can double check is installation placement of the caliper spring clips (see this thread for an example on the rear rotors, but same principle) if you want to be certain you didn't make a mistake on install. |
