M3 World Exhaust and BPM Tune
Recently Dave installed X-pipe with hi-flow cats, BPM Stage 2 tune and DCT tune. I previously had the valved back half installed. Now the system is complete. The effect was quite amazing.
- sharp and firmer mid-range torque. 2500 rpm now feels like 4000 previously. No need to shift down from 3000 - pulls like an ox at that point through to redline. It feels like a different motor. Based on Sadrick Lim's dyno result, 4000rpm now has same power as 5000rpm previously. - The beat! A wonderful sound-track with the valves open. No droney buz - sounds like pure power to my ear. - Much quieter with valves closed - the previous drone at 2000 is gone. At cruising highway speed you cannot hear the motor - add a dash of throttle then you can hear it - perfect. Around town with throttles closed my wife will be much happier, I suspect it may almost be as quiet as OEM exhaust for city traffic driving. - noisy cold start gone - my garage foundations are now safe. - GTS DCT software load is much much better. Smoother clutch action on downshifts with much finer matching of throttle blip and clutch engagement so that the effect is seamless - it is like the best heel-toe you have ever done - on every single shift. On up-shifts, the DCT clutch action is a real harmony with the engine tune; under firm throttle it provides a distinct burble and bark as the shift occurs - the effect reminded me of a Ferrari shift. - Finally - the whole effect is in sympathy with the balance of the car and does not effect drivability, dynamics or safety systems in any way I could notice. Thanks Dave Dee. |

It's the full system Dave, they are now made in 2 halves instead of track pipes and the back section. Cutting the size down in manufacturing has made the transport costs dramatically less and the whole system fits in a small carton now.
