Hunting for an 09-11 E90 M3

Hi all,

Sold my Valencia Orange F20 125i today and can finally begin the serious hunt for my new car.

Owned a manual E46 M3 convertible in LSB a few years back, and I’ve missed that feeling.

I’m looking for an 09-11 sedan with EDC and audio system upgrade (HK or Individual). Ideally want on with either Fox Red or white/beige interior and the carbon leather dash inlay. No interest in the silver/grey interior. Not super fussed on exterior colour at this point.

I’m in Melbourne VIC but prepared to travel for the right car.

Let me know if you’ve got something!

EDIT 28/5/18: I fear I’ve been a little too specific above. This is probably my ideal spec, but it been willing to consider E92 coupes as well. The 09 lower age was more to do with idrive CIC, so if you have a late 08 with CIC that would be of interest too!

Thanks, Mitch

For your info, if I'm not mistaken anyway, in Aus our M3's come standard with HK audio already so the audio option is go up to Individual.

There's still a few options for 2009 MY10 E92 as an example include Individual Audio, Power Rear Blinds, Climate Comfort Windscreen, 19" rims, Novillo Extended Leather, and Ski Bag.

That's why some cars you'll see the Harman Kardon logo ("standard" on the M3), with the Logic7 surround option in the idrive, and then some other M3's don't have the logo, have noticeable kevlar cones (yellow colour), and instead of showing Logic7 surround, just shows "Surround" using BMW's own Dirac.

Don’t think have seen much of those with the Climate Comfort Windscreen. Looked at 10 or so E92s previously and none of the VINs returned such option ticked.

FYI E90 M3 wasn't introduced to Australia until the LCI version anyway so all E90 M3's here have CIC iDrive (but no Combox until MY11).

It’s a Melbourne car yes, though I’ve been eyeing it for about 6 weeks and “negotiating” for 3 weeks.

E90, Jerez, Bamboo, EDC, carbon trim, HK, rear blinds, 220s. Only thing that would have made is fractionally better is Interlagos Blue, but Jerez wasn’t much of a compromise to get everything else I wanted in such a late build car.

Strongly recommend some tweaks if not done eg no Brainers if you enjoy driving

1-xpipe exhaust. I went M3 world exhaust after my research eg bank for buck
2. Engine tune and dct gts tune
3 get rid of the 4x4 look. Cheap option was adjustable height kw springs
4 air filter macht schnell

Hey mate, thanks for the suggestions. Definitely thinking of getting the exhaust mod and DCT GTS tune done fairly soon based on my reading. The car came with a 3 month/5000km statutory warranty, so I want to let that run out before modding anything.

Might do springs at some point, but not a super priority. Plus side of stock is not having to worry about driving over speed bump at normal speed. Ramps in my multi-storey unit carpark are a consideration too.

First "mod" (if you can call it that) will probably be tint. A sexy black car with clear windows is no good

Just a view but if you are into driving and bang for buck stock owners are leaving a fair bit of greater driving pleasure on the table if you don't do the above mods. Ps I'm for less show and more go. E.g. clearer windows much a stealthier. Prefer to let the setup behind the wheel do the talkingo . E.g. drive mine back to back with your stock car and I reckon the 3rd to second downshift will have sold eg so much better than stock and kw,s pilots supwrsprt 4s's really plants the car and makes a noticeable difference.

They look much better with that 4x4 look at least halved.
