Classic Orange Gauges?
How did this person make the gauge cluster orange like the previous BMWs? I would love to do this mod if it's quick, easy and cheap.

Adjust the brightness in idrive? I thought that's what mine already looks like.

No, ours are white (assuming yours is stock). I thought the same thing too, as I posted that pic in an unrelated thread about idle RPMs and didn't even realize they are orange, til i was in my car the other night, and was like WTF? mine are white...

Hahaha many people with the orange cluster do this mod to turn their cluster white
Pretty sure you have to change out the LEDs on the back panel to orange ones. It's not an easy job...there are a bunch of people around the country that offer the service.

Must be my x5 I'm thinking of. Why change it to the color in lesser cars?

Turns out, this photo came from someone who converted a 335 gauge cluster to M3 cluster, retaining the non-M E9X orange. There has to be a way in our cars, but like mentioned, it's probably not worth it. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=316623
