iPod Nano Question

I'm ordering another M3 (2013) in a few months and want to use the new IPod Nano.

I understand that an "iPod and USB adapter" now comes as standard equipment. I'm assuming that this is a USB port in the armrest? I'm looking for full integration with IDrive (song lists, album art, etc.). I'm also hoping that this connection will charge the iPod. I was planning on using the OEM Apple USB cable that came with the Nano.

Is the standard equipment on the vehicle enough to accomplish this, or do I need BMW Apps, or another option added?

Thanks!

Yes, the adapter is in the center console and is a USB port that you plug the iPod into. No other equipment needed. It has been this way since since I owned my 2008 550.

Can't speak for the '13 M3 or the new Nano. I keep a dedicated Nano (older gen) in the center console of my 2011 M3 and it stays charged through the white iPod cable plugged into the USB port.

What I am not sure of is the lightning/USB cable. I would think the Nano would charge just like mine does but I cannot confirm this...

Thanks for the reply! The dealership is now telling me the same thing, no additional equipment needed.
