Anyone know how this compares to M driving school as far as what you get to do in the cars?

If it's anything like the previous years' Ultimate Driving Experience, it's not even close. Yes, you can drive them quickly, but it's not a chance to go hooning their cars on a track all day long. You also won't get the personal instruction.

I haven't attended the BMW M School, but I did Bondurant and believe me, the instructor-student ratio means they'll be watching each person very closely instead of just provided generic lectures and lead-follow exercises.

Just my two cents. I would still do this in a heartbeat just to see what the new cars are like.

I agree, I've done the ultimate driving experience before and to be honest they weren't that great. But I was driving 228i's, NEVER M cars. I'm so surprised they are holding a public event to let people drive M cars because I've never seen that happen yet. (I've only driven M cars at private dinner events, invite only)

Whether it'll be a generic event or not, having a couple hours to drive M cars on the track for free is definitely worth waking up early for and making the trip.

Yes every year they have one in NY at the Mets Parking lot stadium and you can drive the new models and it's pretty fun you get to drive the car and at the end you get to compete against the other team. They had The M Car session once and I miss it and this year they only had the instructor acting a fool in the M4 and all we did was watch

Which day did you sign up? I like the Thermal Club track but I don't think this event takes place on the track. The BMW center at the Thermal Club has its own section which is like a slow speed auto X course from what i remember.
