Have an iPhone X. Like the phone, the OLED screen is great and the lack of home button is super clean. Well worth it over the other iphones.

Will sit out the Xs though. Not enough changes to justify the additional cost.

iOS 12 should have some stability and performance updates for the phones. Should be better after that.

Went ahead and put iOS 12 GM on my X, the wife’s SE, and the MIL’s 8. The increased performance is definitely noticeable!

I usually pay in full and get the unlocked phone. Once the time comes I sell the old one on eBay and get the new one.

I have 8 plus now. Not sure if I want the Xs max - Not a huge fan of the notch and the face ID.

Convenience. It's essentially the same as selling your current phone after a year and buying the latest one. Instead of you selling it, Apple takes it back.

IIRC the current gen phone still sells for 68% of Original price. With Apple upgrade program you have to pay 50% before eligible for upgrade meaning it would cost more.

Ohhh forgot about that 50% of payment on top of the extra monthly fee.

Brought the xs max 256. Paid in full. Paying in installments means no tax, but with my credit card I get 90 days insurance for theft and loss and warranty extended by 1 year, so cheaper than Apple care even with tax. Will pay off old phone and sell back to carrier.

You still have to pay tax on installments. You just pay it up front when you buy the phone.

Ordered XS 256GB in Silver for pick up next Friday. Paid it off since there’s no benefits in doing otherwise. Might add the AppleCare and insurance on it for $15 a month. We’ll see. Already got a case for it for $.99 lol (some promo that Ringke had).

I added up the installments and it came to the retail value without tax and the page said Apple collects tax in CA when purchasing unbundled. I assume bundled is the installment plan with service. The tax on my bill just appears to be some regulatory fees and taxes on the service.

I got the gold color. Looks like 512 and 256 shipping dates on max phones is starting to slip but you will likely get the phone before the expected date.

Other than reading the first few posts in this thread and seeing the prices in the news I haven't even read about the new phones. I'm fine with my 6S and see no reason for a new phone.

I have a 6, flawless function, over 4 years.

I`m tempted for an XS, but I was advised to wait what the iOS12 upgrade sept 17th wil mean for operating speed and stability

The word is that the iOS12 means bigger turbo`s and more HP for the iPhone

If it al works decently I wil not upgrade. Even my battery is fine.

The XR is likely the best value. It appears to have almost all of the features as the S models at a cheaper price.

As an aside, these Apple events are getting ridiculous. The format and content is identical to previous events aside for slightly different products.

FYI... anything prior to a 7 is now considered effectively a dinosaur... the processing power alone of anything older wont allow you to use all apps effectively.

Apps I use on a 6S work fine. What apps won’t work properly on a 3 year old phone?
