New Nordschleife Record by Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo

Dear Comrades,

announced by Porsche more or less silently on today, seems that Porsche's Motorsport team has broken the long-standing record of their own, fellow colleague Stefan Bellof on the Nuerburgring Nordschleife.

With 5:19.546, the Porsche 919 Hybrid (supposedly driven by Timo Bernhard) clocked nearly a minute faster than the world record by Bellof in the then famous 956.007. Back on 28th May 1983, Bellof crossed the line in his 956 during training in 6:11.13 - a time that seemed unreachable for decades.

I'm not a marketing writer by any means - but this news has me excited like not much before. What crazy, fast developing times we live in...

I love that Porsche derestricted the 919 and are just taking it on a world tour demolishing track records.

I hope they take it to Monaco just to stick it to F1.

As a comparison: E92 M3s - even the hardcore ones - are in the 7min range (BTG, i.e. Team Schirmer with 6:59).

Porsche 911 GT2 RS clocked in at 6:47.3.

Sub 6min is just crazy, so is this engine. Hitting the rev-limiter at 360km/h+ and screaming for the next gear, unbelievable!

Still spectacular, Stefan Roser in the '469 HP' (irl it were about 550) Ruf CTR , nowadays it's a lot greener/more trees etc.
