Input needed on 08 E92 for sale

What’s up everyone. I’m looking for some opinions from people more knowledgeable than myself. taylormadeautomotive.net has a 2008 E92 for sale at $24,900. 78k miles and 6 speed manual transmission. I’ve seen it in person and it looks pretty clean. I did notice the winter tires on it so I’m curious if the dealership knocking off a few grand would be realistic as I’m going to replace them right away. Thoughts?

Thanks much!

That looks like a good price, from my experience the dealer usually will go down $500-$1000 but definitely not a “few grand” unless the car has been sitting on the their lot for a long time or something is wrong with it.

I just looked at the website. First i thought 25k was cheap but i see the color combo of red/beige which is not really a desirable color. a white or black car woudl car for 28k range.

December I paid 24k for an 08 with 74k miles DCT AW/black. That price seems normal from a retail standpoint

That’s what I was looking for, thanks guys! I personally like the color combo to be honest. According to the Carfax, the dealer has had it since Feb ‘18 so I might take a chance and let it cook on the lot a bit longer and offer $22k or something and see what they say. It’s had regular maintenance so there’s that.

I’m curious as to why the moon/sun roof seems to be so undesirable to some. Is it a ‘traditionalist’ point of view that real sports cars don’t have that feature?

It is because the carbon fiber roof is standard on these cars and much more desirable. IMO.

CF rood looks better when next to a car with a sun roof. In my opinion and the opinion of most, but not all.

If you like the car, buy it. In time this car will likely appreciate or at the very least stay the same in value, which is more than you can say for any other car in that range. Since these cars basically pay you to drive them, it's silly to pass a decent deal up (which it sounds like you have).
Therefore, if it's a model/color/setup that you like, buy it!

Try and get a little off. I paid 25k for an 09 with 64k DCT. Fully Loaded Carbon Roof in Silverstone on Black. Car was 9/10 condition. I paid this in October of last year. But hey I did look for a few months and found the best deal and the specs i wanted.

Also bought out of state in texas. had someone look at the car and had it shipped for about $600.

I'm also a new E92 M3 owner. I purchased my car in Virginia/DC area (extensive service records) 2008 Black on Black 6 Speed Car with a Carbon Fiber roof and clean Carfax 9/10 on the clean factor, was a 2 owner-Florida and Virginia vehicle, with the most part of its mileage early in its life- no winters! It was on the lot about a month. I went back and fourth multiple times and ended up coming to agreement at 23k purchase price @ 84k Miles. Drove it home 400+ miles, rock solid vehicle. I would offer them $24,000 on that car @ 78k. 22-23k Would be a heck of a deal if you could swing it, but it should have no problem selling at 24k, in my opinion.

Make sure you handle the basics when you buy it, diff/trans fluid/brake fluid flush, oil, coolant (basically all fluids) plugs and any other consumables. I just got done getting a fresh baseline on all of these items in my car (even though some were done not terribly long ago).
