I have bad news. Those nice dark grills got replaced this weekend. The good news is that the speakers behind them will kick some butt. But that stock Hifi amp hardly puts out any juice, I have to fade to right about +4 to make it even because I still have the stock speakers on the left.
The trunk went to MV Designs, Mike Vu the guy who build showcars for Alpine, Scion and other SEMA cars. So now I'm driving without a gas lid and my reflectors, all for the sake of paint. Also today I had Huper Optik tint installed by Song's Tint Masters. Will post pictures later. Getting tired... |

Ok are you ready for more pix?
Here's some of the tint. I got 50% on the front, 40% rear 3 windows. It looks very classy, impossible to photograph and different from all angles. It's tinted but doesn't even look tinted with this lighting. Front view New door speakers Crossovers wouldn't fit so I had to take apart the housing and special fit it into the only area available. Riding dirty... no reflectors, no gas cap By next week I should have a new 5 channel amp and subwoofers. The Premium sound system will not hold a candle to a good aftermarket system and if you just get the standard system, it makes it a lot easier to go aftermarket. With the weak little factory amp, I'm already experiencing how much more dynamic these Diamond audio speakers are. They are not an easy fit so I wouldn't recommend them for most folks. The tweeter housing needed some work, the crossovers didn't fit, and the speaker had to be mounted on top of the door panel as you see. Coming soon, new trunk, diffuser, front lip, and wheels. Be patient, I'll update with pix. trah23, you crack me up so I'll have to find some way to make a new video for you... |

Yeah that's one of my other cars, it's a 95. Feels real low and cart-like after driving the M3. Both cars are great.
I took the tripod out to try to capture how good the FR looks with the interior lighting. I'm not good with cameras so this was my best effort, last photo here is overexposed as it's not that bright... Finally, just one of the parking light... Nothing special Last edited by badfish; 04-08-2008 at 03:43 AM.. |

It's not getting painted itself, but it's being used to color match the trunk which is being painted. The paint shop wants to make sure they get the color right so they need a small sample to compare with, instead of having to leave a larger part or my entire car with them.

Dang amp hasn't arrived yet. Wheels are being cut this week but during the process they grew 1" in size. Today I picked this up:

Sorry for the lack of updates. A lot has happened. I've been running around with some parts on my car that I can't post pictures of yet because the vendor release photos aren't out yet (NDA). They turned out real nice Wheels should be finished this week. I'm going to put on a new exhaust and hopefully the trunk tomorrow. I'll try to take some videos with sound bites of the exhaust when I'm finished. Still hunting down some suspension, not having EDC makes this a little easier. Bimmerfest is coming up fast...
