Soooo sick of Network TV....

I'm tired of everyone trying to syndicate their own network trying to grab more of the honey pot. It's just getting out of hand. Everyone and their brother is trying to have their own station. Individual teams want their own station (ex. YES - Yankees, Sportstime Ohio - Indians), Conferences (ex. Big Ten Network), and now the NFL Network.

It's just getting annoying. It's bad enough that you have to pay more to get the extended package for cable, but then you have to pay more for these individual channels or your cable provider simply will ignore the network and not even pick it up.

I hate the Steelers and just found myself searching for the last 20 minutes to find the game is on the NFL Network and I don't have that channel. I really really wanted to watch the Steelers choke for the third week in a row (btw, their currently losing., check that not anymore. Both teams keep marching down the field and scoring)

Those are cable channels. Network TV is CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, etc...

And I enjoy channels like the NFL and NHL networks, NESN, etc...MUCH better than network channels. You gotta pay to play, though......although I don't pay that much for HD channels, and I get quite a few:

WJAR NBC
WPRI CBS
WLNE ABC
WGBH PBS
WNAC FOX
WLWC CW
HD Theather
ESPN
ESPN 2
MOJO
TNT
Universal
National Geographic
A&E
History
HBO
Showtime
NESN
NFL Network
Comcast SportsNet
NHL Network
MTV
CNN
TBS
HGTV
Food Network
Discovery
TLC
Animal Planet
Science

It's easy to surprise people when they don't expect much out of you. Just watch out. The Browns are preparing to take a big bite out of Steelers nations heart.

Not trying to get ahead of myself but wouldn't that suck for Steelers fans if the Browns crawl up and win the division. THEN go on to knock them out of the playoffs after losing badly in the first game then almost beating them in the 2nd.

It's a crazy football year no matter what level.

My bad. Mixed the terminology up.

Damn you guys have a lot in Boston. Cleveland is still catching up. We have like 12 HD channels and they prolly charge as much as your bagillion HD channels.

We have a bad set-up for Cable providers here. Only 1 is allowed per city with is kinda fucked up. So where I live I have no option but to get Cox Communications. The city over is Adelphia, then another city gets Time Warner and some may have Insight or Comcast. It's messed up. I wish we could choose cuz Cox is a ripoff.

When I lived in Columbus I lived in 2 different cities while down there. Both I had a choice between 2-3 dif. cable providers. Cable was dirt cheap. My roomate and I had HD/DVR cable with 2 movie channels and cable internet for $90. My dad pays $150 for the same combo through Cox Comm., it's BS that there's no competition.

Providence, not Boston. And I have a lot more than my parents in CT (Charter Communications), and my co-workers in MA (Comcast). I have Cox Communications.

See that is what's fucked up. Cox is fairly national and yet they provide different services to different areas. There is no reason your list of 30 some HD channels shouldn't be provided here as well. It's not like those channels are regional channels either.

Also can you only get Cox or do you have the option of some other provider as well??

I've stopped watching TV ever since I got my first modem in the 80's. Been online since the 80's. Yeah, I'm a geek.

Btw, you're not missing much with the NFL Network's coverage. Gumbel and that other douche that was on tonight are horrible.
