Talking Hey for you guys that live in Va. I think you might want to try this set up

I know radar detectors are illegal in Va. but the new law that takes place on the 1st of July for you guys is crazy if you get caught speeding. So if you want to roll the dice and speed I think you might want to try this set up I am currently using while I am in this state for a month. This set up really is working The Virginia State Police and Regular Police RDD (Radar Detector Detector) can not pick up my BelSti Driver radar detector. I just want to help out my Fellow BMW members out there

what new law? if you are referring to the speeding tax, i inquired about that and that law got thrown out as it was deemed unconstituional.

Darkstar has updated his 1st post on this thread for those registered/attending. you can also log on to motorsportreg site to see who else.

we usually have a turnout of 20-30 +/- cars show up on these runs.

always neat to see a convoy of BMW/Euro cars

I think this group is going to be a bit smaller than the last 3, maybe 15 cars, most likely because of summer vacations. I think this is good, though, as we wont have as hard of a time stickin together or finding places to park together.

John,

My kids are at the house for the summer so I won't make it this time around. However, I have been wanting to do a track day! Let me know what you think.

I updated the main post with the link to the route. We are meeting in the parking lot of Heritage High School in Leesburg, VA around 10am and plan to leave at 10:30am. If you want a preview, Google street view works for the entire route.

These are the best roads yet!

No worries, Angel, we'll see you on the next one. As for the track day, lets all sign up for the BMW CCA track weekend at summit point on 10/16-17. Registration opens 8/28.

Sunday is supposed to be all sun so lets use that as the rain date if needed. Though, I have a feeling that all the rain is going to be in the evening friday night. As it gets closer, we'll look at the hourly forcast to be sure.

Sunday is the world cup final at 2 pm. Don't know if I can make the drive if it's pushed to Sunday. Want to watch the game.

Call me an optimist, but I think the weather's gonna hold out.

Plus, there's autocrossing to be done on Sunday. What a great weekend.

Im not so sure, even if it doesnt rain it'll prolly be cloudy and gloomy. Its up to you guys though. Any thoughts on dates to push it back to or just do it rain or shine? I'm autocrossing the 17th, so I can't do it then.

if it rains do it Sunday. If it rains Sunday, push back for another time.

If its cloudy or gloomy do it anyways.

The hourly forcast shows cloudy with 50% chance of rain until 12pm, then partly cloudy 60% chance of thunderstorms. No doubt we will run into some rain at some point. Since a lot of people already have plans for Sunday, I'm wondering if we should push back to Sunday the 25th or completely reschedule for sometime next month.

Or just do it anyway, its a small group and it'll be dry half the time Speak up!
