Yes, there are other colors from other generations that are fantastic...but as a whole, e36 wins IMHO.

No question about that.. man I forgot how legendary the E36 colour choices were. I still think diamond schwarz was a sweet colour as well that was not on your list. Even just for the fact that estoril, dakar, and technoviolet are on there... no contest.

Diamond Schwarz was an e30 color I believe...i knew someone who owned one. Cosmos black, which was very similar, was the e36 version.

I actually had an E36 in diamond schwarz II (1992 325is, admittedly not an M). It was epic. It was available on the E39 for a bit as well. Much less dark than cosmos. In certain lights it looked dark gray. The key was a pink paint flake. Awesome.

Ahh...ok...makes sense then...it was an e30 M3 color...but never made it to the e36 M3 generation, i don't believe.

I echo the sentiment that E36 M3s had the best color palette. Estoril, Dakar, Techno Violet (looked SO aggressive) Cosmos, TiAg, Dakar, Hellrot, AW, JB, that one green color. They ALL looked amazing. Estoril in my opinion only looked good on the cars it was available on. The E46 M3 didn't look as good in EB as it did in LSB in my opinion. Imola though, is my favorite Red BMW has ever made. It also looked insane on the 4.6 and 4.8is X5.

I'd like to see what an E92 in techo violet would look like. Probably weird.

I just find it interesting how one color on one gen M3 looks so good but then looks weird on a different M3 generation.
