Accident Help!!
Hey Guys
My E92 M3 got rear ended while at a stop light. The damage looks minimal but I'm worried about things that can potentially arise in the near future. Taking it to the shop Tomorrow just need to know what I should keep a close eye on. I know for sure a new rear bumper is needed. In addition the trunk won't open with the remote control. I'm really worried about the exhaust as the other car front bumper was dug in to my exhaust. I don't see any damages to it beside the my paint wearing off (from my bad bad paint job) but worried if this damaged the headers etc. If no damage is seen is it worth to argue that this may be an issue in the near future worth changing ? Any input would be great guys !!! |

It doesn't look terrible. Aside from cosmetics, it looks like it knocked the bumper off the tabs. I doubt the bumper bar is even damaged.

license plate is also crooked as hell, so make sure it didn't get pushed up and sheered the bolts off in the trunk. that would add to the cost considerably.

Just wait until your chosen shop tears it down before coming to conclusions. I was rear ended at low speed (probably less than 10 mph) in my grocery getter and the damage appeared minimal like yours. When it was all said and done the car needed a bumper cover, trunk, trunk mechanism, and absorber. Not trying to induce any kind of panic but just putting my experience out there that you never know the extent of the damage until it's all been taken apart.

Don't have the shop just do a visual inspection, they need to take it apart. From the back all the way the way to the front. There is hidden damage for sure.
Happen to my E46 M3 in 2006, that's why it was written off and I got another one. Got more money than I bought it for so I was lucky!
