RTD Shifter kit vs CAE Shifter kit

Anyone who has experience with either please let me know your thoughts. I just got the Ultimate Clutch Pedal and am now considering upgrading the shifter. Apologies if there’s another thread regarding this, if so please point me in the right direction.

I just bought a CAE Street for my turbo E36M3. I have read of people buying the cheaper versions and not really liking them. I have rarely read of anyone not liking the CAE. I figured it was worth the extra money. I did choose the looser Street model, but my driving is Street and strip for that car. For my comfy cruiser winter heater E90M3, I would consider an Autosolutions aftermarket stock style shifter but not a chassis mount shifter.

I'm very curious to hear thoughts from anyone that has real world experience with both and can compare one to the next.

My car has the CAE in it and it feels great but I find myself wanting a cleaner look that I think the RTD offers. My concern is that the RTD just doesn't feel as good. There is a good price gap between the two and I assume for a reason.

My E92 race car has the RTD 'race' version in it (the longer lever). Previous E36 race car had the CAE. I can't tell the difference between the two, the CAE might shift a bit smoother, but the RTD is 100% as direct as the CAE. If I were to do it again I would get the RTD over the CAE, I don't see the justification for the double, or more, price of the CAE. The RTD parts are well-made to order pieces, the one downside with RTD is the long wait time between ordering and receiving the product but otherwise I have nothing but good things to say regarding dealing with them.

Where'd you find the CAE for 795? Cheapest I've seen is ~1k from Hard Motorsports or ECS. Was that without a DSSR?
RTD doesn't offer a lock out version for BMW's anymore. And honestly, it's a fairly useless feature - at least in my opinion, going from the CAE with it to the RTD without it. I got my RTD for 500$ shipped to me.

My error. The $795 shipped was for the E36/46 version. The E9x version is more.

Does anyone know if the CAE can be purchased with different height levers? I wouldn't mind if mine was 2-3" shorter (It was in the car when I bought it).

At least for the E36/46, there is a “Street” version that is lower. Not sure it is available for the E9x. You could ask CAE; it is a special order item.
