Brembo GT Replacement Friction Rings

I have a Brembo GT big brake kit (380mm front, 345mm rears) and I think I'll need to replace the rotors soon. I have some questions I hope someone can help me with as I've not managed to find any good answers on the internet.

1. Brembo seems to have different GT kits for North America and Europe. I'm located in Asia and got my kit used. How do I check if I have the NA or EU kit?

2. Of the different Brembo rotor faces, which one is best for pad wear? I'm currently on x-drilled.

3. Brembo GT friction rings are pricey. Can anyone recommend other replacement friction rings that will work with my Brembo GT hats?

Thanks in advance!

1. Not sure, first I’ve heard of that. Also first time I’ve heard of a 380/345 kit. Where in Asia are you?

2. Some info here. I’m on slotted now but iirc slots are best for track and drills best for street.

3. Stoptech rings will fit, at least 380s for your front. ~$600/axle from Zeckhausen. I don’t think ST makes 345 rears for you.

You're right, there isn't a 380/345 kit. I think the previous owner bought the front and rears individually. I'm in Malaysia.

I've already asked ST and they say their friction rings won't work for Brembo kits.

Go to the Brembo website and look up who the distributor is for your country. They can provide you information on what's available for a specific kit. I've had very good luck going this route.

Yeah that's a last resort. Trying to see if anyone has replaced it using other brands.

Well that’s odd. I know others who have put ST 380 rings on Brembo hats/BBKs.

Zeckhausen is the man. I’d write him to confirm.

LOL why is asking the manufacturer the last resort?

Lol cos they are expensive? Also Brembo are easily available here, so I know for sure I can get them. Just trying to see if there are cheaper options.

Ok here are some price comparisons I've gotten for Brembo friction rings:

Brembo (from Racing Brakes)
380 x 32mm - $950 pair ($475 each)

Stoptech (from Zeckhausen)
380 x 32mm - $401 each

Someone recommended custom rotors from Coleman Racing cos they were cheap. So I reached out to them also.

Coleman Racing
380 x 32mm - $413 each
Cross-drilling - $70
Stress relief - $27
Gas venting - $26
Total - $536 (not cheap!)

Summary - Stoptech rings for Brembo GT are the best value, but original Brembo rings aren't that far off.

My local supplier here in Malaysia quoted me $773 per rotor, which is nearly double the price than in the US. Looks like I may ship them in from the US.

Probably still cheaper but shipping won’t be cheap, they’re big and heavvvy!
I thought the price diff Brembo to ST would be greater.

Awesome - Thanks for this. Looks like I will also have to ship to UAE.

Bad news - Neither Racing Brakes nor Zeckhausen will ship outside of US. They all referred me back to local distributors in my country. Back to square one. Sigh.

Maybe try ShopandShip or any similar service. It provides you with a US address and then they will ship it to you - Might be on the higher end of the cost

Update - Zeckhausen says that the Stoptech 380x32 rings don't fit our Brembo GT kits. The 345x28mm rights work for my rear Brembo GT calipers but require modifications to the center hat.

So it looks like Brembo rings are the only real option.
