Service light coming up at 950km???

So when i turn my car on a yellow car breifly pops up on the dash and in the Nav a yellow triangle comes up and beside it says service due! I only have 950km on the car and when i check vehicle info service section it says oil needs to be changed in 1000km. I know first service is at 2000km but i thought there would be more oil than that and that the service light would not come up over 1000km before the service is actually needed?

When it pops up it also tells you (briefly) how many KM's until your service is due.

It's just a pre-warning to make your appointment for the first break-in service. We have all experienced this around the 1000km mark. I think they just assume that by the time the owner gets around to calling and getting in for an appointment, it should be at about 2000km. Your dealer service department should be calling you by phone within a few days too, if you don't call them before then.

You're not running out of oil, you just need the 2000km break-in oil change.

It has nothing to do with the quantity of oil. Like others have said, it's just a warning to make an appointment for the 2000kms service. Check the oil level with your iDrive, I'm sure it's at the MAX level.
