Braking too hard + understeer = overdriving the brake zone then overdriving the corner, not really braking causing it, more like testosterone + LOFT

He's probably talking about the e36 m3 sedan in front of me. Yeah he is. It's not even a motor swap - his car has had a lot of weight reduction (I think his car weighs < 2700 lbs) and he'll actually pull on me on a straight.

It doesn't seem to be a very good grip surface and it's very bumpy making it a challenge for your suspension. I did 1:28 once in my e92 when I was relatively new to driving it - maybe 6 or so track days of experience. That lap with MDM is here:

Don't worry, you are plenty quick. Were your tires old/worn? You seem to lose a lot of rear grip through S corners..

Many drivers think it's full throttle then full brakes but "Trail braking" involves easing off the brake pedal so as not to let the car understeer, while still slowing it enough to make the corner.
"When approaching a corner, it's common practice to give full braking in a straight line. Trail braking begins when turning into the corner while at the same time easing off the brakes, but still applying enough pressure to make sure you don't fly off the course. With the right pressure applied, the car will balance out, and you'll make it through the turn. Add too much or too little, and the car will begin to push or understeer."
