i'm likely going to pick up a few and put them in the huge wasted space above where my garage door is when it is opened. i'm going to use it for things i'm just storing and don't need access to all the time.
https://www.amazon.com/Racor-PHL-1R-...e+ceiling+rack

edit... while i was thinking about it, i just bought it. pics and details soon.
I have one of those in the townhouse garage. It holds the Thule Terrapin and a bunch of other stuff. I run it up and down with my cordless drill. A bit of a flimsy rig. Not sure how much weight it can hold. Consider putting a piece of plywood on it for a level platform if you're going to lay wheels and tires on it.

I was just going to put a spare trunk and my rear seats on it. Relatively light.

Try to avoid leaning your head into turns. Your sense of balance is slightly affected when you tilt your head. Keep your body and head upright as much as you can.

Sears Point isn't a track I'm qualified to offer serious performance advice on as I've only been there once. Carry on.

i appreciate any and all tips, tricks, and secrets. i noticed i seemed to be tipping my head more here. it makes sense that head tilting isn't ideal. i wonder if the angles/elevation influences it at all. i'll try to be more conscious of it, thanks.

Add to your list of 1million things to think about while at the track.

Jealous of you guys living in a climate that allows tracking this time of year. Just sitting on my ass and thinking, what if I....haha
When freezing is just not enough, we are expecting -20F over the next couple days. WTF

anyone ever use this service?
https://www.49dollarmontanaregisteredagent.com

apparently, there is a loophole in montana law that allows for a non-resident to form a LLC. your LLC can own a car and have the car registered to it. lots of people do it to avoid paying taxes on rv's and exotics. i read an article about it being challenged in court and holding up. nobody in montana gives a shit because it is more money going into the state.
i'm likely going to do it with my truck so i can finally run a v8 and a fuel cell.

Tempting. But very likely to end up in an audit.

The way the article claims the CHP enforces such "laws" is very vague. The article sort of dead-ends there. Notice that? I've googled it with poor results.

i did some further googling and there are tons of articles of states "cracking down" on this. they rely on neighbors snitching on people. however, i have not been able to find out how they are forcing people to do it "correctly." they essentially send out a letter telling you to do it.

Make sure your trailer and truck both have Montana plates. Also, don't assume a jealous neighbor or co-worker won't call CHP on you. I did the Montana thing with my RV and trailer when I had it, but I was in Vegas and revenue enhancement wasn't as big of a deal as it is in California.

Also, make sure the GVW rating of the truck is under 10k lbs or you are, by definition, a commercial carrier (research 49 Code of Federal Regulations) and are subject to additional harassment by law enforcement during a side of the road discussion.

To me, the crap to worth ratio is all wrong to do this in high enforcement states like California. If you're an attorney and can prattle off laws and pwn the officer, it might be different. Just remember, he has a gun and a badge and you're at his mercy.

I have run with Chin - probably one of the best HPDE organizations out there.

Back on topic. I am prepping the car for DEs and some track days. As such, I felt it obligatory to expand the handling and braking potential of my M3, despite me not having the driver skill to fully exploit the goods.

AR Auto will be performing the following work shortly:

- AP Radi Cal BBK (Thanks jritt@essex & roastbeef )

- Ferodo DS-2500 Pads

- AP Fluid

- BBS Forged Wheels 18" (RI-A)

- APEX ARC-8 Track Wheels

- Michelin PSS 255/285

- Bullet Nose Wheel Studs

- Proper alignment at AR Auto

PSS instead of RE71R's or another real track tire? Brakes are going to overwhelm those tires pretty quickly is my guess.

You are totally right.

My car is primarily used for weekend cruiser / mountain /back roads / and longer trips with wife, so I wanted the PSS for the street. I will likely be putting RE71R or Nittos on my APEX (track wheels), when I feel I have exceeded the limits of the PSS on track or at DEs.

I'm a novice driver and really want to focus on my driving skills this year.
