E90 (4 Door) Real Carbon Roofs

I have the first 2 prototype Carbon roofs done and in my shop! These are 1x1 straight weave, just like the factory carbon roofs from BMW. I do not have firm final pricing, but would like to guage intrest. My initial thoght is that they will go for right around $2200. Instal is straight forward, just like replacing an E46 roof, or an E92 M3, or E63 M6. You will use the factory glue etc. These were made off of a Factory non sunroof E90 roof.

Impressive...IF I had an E90...and IF I wanted a CF Roof....then I would def do that. $2200 is impressive too!

... plus add another $1000 at least for installation. Coincidentally, $3200 is the price difference between the Sedan and the Coupe.

you should defiantly design some kind of strength test showing that the rigidity of this roof is just as good.. or better then a stock metal one....

you will sell alot....

Just saw the carbon fiber roof in person today. Really amazing quality also the company that makes the roof makes most of their carbon fiber parts for race cars.

very cool. hopefully it doesn't scratch as easily as my e92 cf roof. just looking at it wrong will scratch it.

The Vorsteiner E46 coupe CF roof panel was $1,200.

I don't think the roof panels are structural components. If that is indeed the case, there is no point in testing their rigidity.

The roof panel definitely adds rigidity to the body.

So this is not a weight saving exercise then as you are sticking the CF roof to the metal roof. Like the days of glueing vinyl on car roofs one would ask what sort on rust & condensation warranty is there on the installation of this product. I cannot see how you could get all the air out from under it, also would it increase the rain noise.

Wonder if BMW would void your paint & rust warranty after this install.

It's great idea but I don't think I would do it.
