BMW Motorsports pan arrived in the US last night, so should have it later this week.

Rahal BMW confirmed that it does not come with a gasket, but the good news is Bimmerworld has the Meyle DCT gasket back in stock for $17.

That brings my total cost to $728 for pan & gasket!

Ooof good find on the m4 GT3 pan.
Does anything need to be done for the filter and pickup?

Unfortunately the pan will go straight to my shop and on the car while I’m out of town next week. However, the links I posted have fantastic pics—probably better than I’d take.

Here’s David’s info. Super nice guy, he can get us ANY BMW Motorsports parts we want, and he had the best price and quickest shipping out of Germany for any dealers I spoke with.

No changes needed. It looks to be the maximum size that doesn’t require filter or pickup changes, has great baffles & flow directors, and a nice front end taper that should allow the under tray to remain unmodified on the car.

I’ll find out for sure about the last point next week.

Awesome, any other parts beside the pan and gasket? Do you need new plug and bolts? Trying to do single order

I picked up a plug and bolts from FCP Euro or Turner, can’t remember which. Still not sure if the pan comes with a plug, but it’s cheap so I got one anyways.

Darn! Looks like realoem lists a washer (41008427227) and a bolt (41008427808). Would your contact be able to confirm if these are correct part numbers?

Rahal did send me those two small parts with the pan, although I don’t really know what they’re for. Will find out next week.

Cool thanks. After looking at realoem more I think it’s #2. Plug (07119902292) and washer (07119963252). So if you can ask what the previous bolt and washer is for and ask if these are part number for drain plug.

It’s not a drain plug. Not sure what it’s for.

those should be the bolt and washer that hold the magnet inside the pan.

BTW did someone know how much extra oil the pan takes now? Let us know how much your mechanic puts in, and also if you can confirm that protective cover still fits over it! Thanks!

Yup, you’re right.

We also figured out that the regular DCT pan drain plug size doesn’t fit the Motorsports pan. You need 07119902292.

Also, found out that there’s an endurance spec thermostat for the F8x cars vs the stock, so changing that too. ~$230 from Rahal. 17 20 8 431 953.

Stock under tray does clear the BMW Motorsports pan on the M2.

And, I’ll get a quart count from my mechanic.

Your should probably not change the thermostat. In general on the street which is mostly where our cars are you want to heat up the oil start burning out any condensation inside. Endurance thermostat is for you know race cars that are driven to 10 out of 10 so the oil is always heating up and obviously race car you replace that oil way more often. I wouldn't bother replace that part.

Thanks for the verification. Do you also need the washer with the drain plug(part number I mentioned in post #99)? Also see there’s an endurance magnet (23018441998). Can the original magnet be used or will you need to order that too?

I translated the Japanese posts using google translate that were posted in an earlier thread and they mention approximately 2L additional. In the second link. I have placed my order for the DCT pan from my local dealer and got it for $655. Will take 4-6 weeks. So I’m currently gathering all the parts needed. Likely won’t be doing the install until the end of the year.

Good price!

Rahal has fairly constant BMW Motorsports shipments for their race teams and other amateur teams, so was able to get the pan in 2-weeks and I needed it quicker than 4-6 for some other work we’re doing.

No idea about the endurance magnet. Is it 1oz lighter?

Should be fine for my setup.

I don’t drive my car too much on the street, and I’m currently tuned to 494whp & 547wftlbs (or ~575hp/635ftlbs) and drive pretty hard, so it’ll get up to temp quick.

I change fluid every year, so no prob there.

I’m also actually going back to the OE DCT cooler (from the CSF) now that I have this pan and thermostat, to help get more airflow across the radiator to help with coolant temps. Also have a vented GTS style hood going on the car soon to help push as much air as possible. Keeping the larger CSF radiator & oil cooler, and do88 aux radiator on the car.

Will continue to monitor engine and gearbox temps on track to see how she does!

Use code spring22 at the top of the page for 10% off. Not sure how much shipping is since I’m picking it up in store. They also made me agree to no cancellation and no refunds as the part number did not match my VIN.

Lol just wondering if the stock magnet fit or if we needed to order the endurance magnet. If stock fits I’ll just move it over.
