32K on PS2s

As my title claims, thats what is on my tires right now. This is with alot of jack rabbit starts and redlight racing (not with anyone-just liked the awesome acceleration). I always keep it on Traction control, and M-Dynamic Mode when feeling spirited. The tires are just hitting the wear bars in the rear and 3/32" in the front. Very and completely satisfied with PS2's.

Been waiting for three months to change out to Conti's DWS for winter. Tire Rack had them on B/O for three months. They just came in. Got another set of rims and PS2 that I purchased from another forum member. It's got about 4/32" on the rear and 7/32" in the front. I'm looking to change them out completely this winter. Perhaps all new PS2's or Max Summer Conti DW's.

Which would you guys choose? You give up very little in performance with the Conti's, but save 33% on the price of the PS2's.

Oh by the way, just got my car back from the dealership for the fifth (or is it sixth time?) regarding noises from window seals and side view mirrors, also had them replace a mount for the rear side sunshade that broke off and finally they replaced the cover on the steering wheel that had the peeling rubber coating. Told them some of you guys had it done under warranty and that they had better check on it! Sorry for not posting any pics previously, but once the matte black rubber coating peels what is left is the shiny black plastic surface. It looked like shit due to the tremendous contrast in texture and going from matte to high gloss.

I had to wait a week for the parts to come in and requested an oil change, since it was 400 miles until 15,000. They said no my FOB told them it had another 5K miles due to the quality of oil being still satisfactory and that I had mostly Highway miles. I thought to my self WTF! So the way I drive, I would be only good for two oils changes with this EFF'n warranty! They then said to bring it back next month because it would be a year since last oil change and it would then fall under 15K miles or 1 year criteria. I figure it was BullShi! But by the following week my car tells me it was three hundred miles over due for an oil change. Man do I deal with a bunch of frikken idiots or what?

The drama goes on with VOB BMW!

My rear PS2's lasted until 22k, my fronts are still strong at 28k and that's with VERY spirited driving. I was surprised on the longevity of the tires.

Pushed 20k and they practically became racing slicks.

Man!
I thought I WAS having fun. 32K miles on a 21 month old car that is usually put away for 3 winter months has to count for something...

"Exactly why I don't take my car to VOB. Passport is where it's at. "

Passport is too far down the Beltway. Has anyone tried Tischer. They are only five miles away. Everyone seems to rave about their OEM/aftermarket parts department.

Just read this part, sounds like total BS. The ECU doesn't know how "good" the oil is. People think these cars are magic.. Even one of the sales guys at TMS told me "You don't have to listen to what the car says, you can do oil whenever". "uhh, dude, that's the oil _level_"

Just replaced all 4 with about 16k miles on them. I got PS2s again and the car feels like new again (with alignment and balancing). The rear tires were pretty much gone. Not sure how anything more than 16-17k is possible. I only abused them a couple of times

I feel that my car would be quicker on fresh tires, but do you think with smoother tires (worn out tires that look like racing slicks) - would I be quicker off the line?

I recently replaced my PS2s with Conti DWs. Much less expensive and I can't really tell the difference.

Dang! This must be an annomoly. I get 25k out of my rears on my 330Ci if I go down to the steel belts. Can't imagine ever getting that kind of mileage from a M3 that is 300lbs heavier.

Haha...actually you wore out one front tire...that short track murders front tires.
