18" BBS CH on Interlagos E90

The big brown truck arrived today with a special delivery from Ben and the TireRack. It was worth the wait for the TPMS sensors. I went with the Conti Extreme Contact DW in standard 18" sizes with silver BBS CH wheels. I'm very happy - I was worried that the wheels would look too small but I think they're fine, and I won't have to worry so much about bending them here in NJ.

Sorry about the poor picture quality. I've got to get a new camera!

Looking good!

Its good to see someone taking the state of road infrastructure (in the Northeast) into account.

Yeah. You guys down there in the Philly area have a much warmer climate! I see you got your ZCP. Very nice. I love those wheels, but in the end I made the more sensible choice for this neck of the woods.

I still have a little treadlife on the PS2's on the stock wheels. I'll do my best to cord them at Thunderbolt next weekend. Then I can decide whether I put snows or track tires on them.

The car isn't back in my hands yet!
Maybe early next week... Waiting for an update.

VERY ITCHY.

BTW:

I have 2 front stock size PS2s in the basement... and 2 rears that would last a couple more track weekends. I don't think I'll ever use any of them.
Let me know if you need to root through my inventory!

not bad at all, looks very low key, but at least you don't have to worry about the road conditions that much now

Nice but I think it looks a bit too small for the car.

Yeah, you can say that coming from SoCal. Here in Jersey, a straight 18 looks better than a bent 19. Road conditions are awful out here.

Funny how things change. When I was growing up, no car had bigger than 15 inch wheels, now 18's are too small!

smart choice in going for 18s instead of 19s or 20s. i agree that the roads in the north east arent great at all.

Looks good. I have 18" Volks and stock 19" wheels. As far as ride goes I prefer the 18s.

Not sure on the offset, but they're 18 x 8.5 front with 245/40 18 and 18 x 10 with 265/40 18 rear. 10mm spacers front and rear, I think. I'll double check when I get home.

I ran Thunderbolt yesterday with my stock 18s and PS2s, which I'm trying to wear out. I was debating whether to put snows or track tires on the stock wheels when these wear out. I'm leaning toward leaving the car in the garage for the winter.

By the way, I switched to Continental Extreme Contact DWs after two sets of PS2s on this car, and I really like them so far. After 500 miles, they're much quieter than the PS2s, and feel a little more compliant without being mushy. They also have a much longer treadwear rating than the Michelins. (340 vs. 220) I don't intend to use them on track.

I ran 19" BBS CH's, they were pretty flush at ET20 front and rear. They were also 8.5 front 10 rear.

wheel specs should be 18x8.5 +35 and 18x10 +40. these sizes can use a 10mm spacer in front, and up to 18-20mm in rear

These 18s look GREAT when the car is lowered some more

That's exactly what I'm thinking! I've got two kids in college right now, but I'm thinking of Dinan springs when I'm down to one tuition.

I think you may have to go eibach to get the right look for the 18s IMO. Dinan might just be enough though on a sedan.

Good luck with those college bills..... yikes

do your front and/or rear differ much from the circumference of the standard OEM sizes? Just curious as I'm going through these decisions myself and I thought changing the overall circumference was not desired for performance or other reasons.

Thanks.

I'm running the stock sizes for my M3. I don't know how they compare to the circumfrence of the 328 tires, but you can compare them on the TireRack web site. Width might be a bigger problem. I'm guessing you could have fender clearance problems, but I'm not sure. Talk to Ben at TireRack - they've got all this stuff figured out already.
