jeep wranglers

im looking to buy a jeep.. nothing too old and nothing too new.

where is a good place to look for a jeep? i have searched craigslist, found scammers, ebay, locals, etc.

i just want a clean jeep with no rust. if anyone on this forum has a wrangler they want to sell me, let me know!

There is no "extra" power in the 4.0, there is no power in the 4 banger.

Yeah, I've been in a couple with the 4 cyl, very, very slow and the mpg wasn't even good.

I had a 4cl (auto) jeep wrangler for about 3 months when I was in HS... Don't hate, it was just a temporary car I had for a while. Plus it was free so I couldn't really complain too much at the time.

OMG what a dog. The biggest insult to injury was the 3sp auto... it was decent until you hit about 60 and then it was a fucking doggggggggg. Really only got about 13MPG too.

You want the I-6 with the 5spd... at least that's all I'd be looking at.

Oh... and make sure you pick up 2-3 "brahs" and some DMB. Might as well live up the stereo type if you are going to get one.

I would recommend looking at the 4.0 5spd. They did introduce a 6spd, but the gearing was kind of funky, 1st gear is useless unless you upgraded to 33''s.

They are good cars. Get one with the full doors as the windows are much nicer than the zipper crap.

Seriously though I like wranglers... Wish I had one set up as a full urban assault vehicle.. lift/winches/lights/snorkel, etc. Maybe one day... just don't have the space right now.

Get a cherokee (XJ) 4.0 5spd. Hard to find. Good friend has one, it's a lot of fun.

Maybe, but they look great lifted.

Anyhow, if you've got the idea of a Wrangler stuck in your head, go for it. There is little that can compare to no top, no doors on a summer evening.
