I've never ordered large items / but smaller general maintenance stuff has always been fine.

Though as of recently have had a lot of - abnormally slow shipping times - odd shipping characteristics jumping from carrier to carrier.

Service has for sure downgraded

My painted vorsteiner trunk seems a little warped in some angles I think it's the shape of the trunk.

It all comes down to the quality of resin and fiberglass used. I've had some cheap chinese carbon pieces that would warp and bubble from heat and UV. Painting the trunk would help protect from UV more than anything. It would probably get destroyed faster if the carbon was left exposed.
